Government Relations Committee- shall analyze issues, communicate Association positions to elected officials, membership and public, and work to influence the school board, legislature and community to the Association’s position.
Committee Charges:
Advocating for School Board policies to address invisible diseases and disabilities specifically in policies.
Review bills that passed the previous session and develop a method to inform members changes and the impact to our members, students and our public schools.
Develop a plan to build relationships with the local delegation and plan to meet with the delegation while they are back home.
Develop a plan to build relationships with the members of the Pinellas County School Board and plan to meet with members at least twice a year to share concerns and ideas.
Develop a plan to make a clear presence at the school board meetings on a regular basis.
Develop a plan to engage the public in order to support our members, our students and our public schools.
2026-2027 Meeting Dates
2nd Monday of each month, 5:15 p.m.
8/10, 9/14, 10/13 (Tuesday), 11/09, 12/14, 01/11, 02/08, 03/08, 04/12, and 05/10.
