Questions about pay

PCTA has received numerous calls about totals on paychecks this year.  Since the professional education day was moved from Thanksgiving week to preschool, an additional equalized day was added to the calendar. This means that from the first day of school to the last day of school there is one more day added to the calendar. Last year the salary was divided into 21.3 checks. This year it will be divided into 21.4 days, making each check slightly smaller to ensure full checks are paid even when there are breaks including days for which you are not paid. No additional work days were added to the calendar and the total salary will be paid to each employee.
