GUIDELINES FOR 2010-11 TRADE DAYS RELEASED
District guidelines have been established for earning trade days during the 2010-11 school year. PCTA has protected your trade days both this year and next year as we are committed to compensated professional development. The following are key elements from the district developed guidelines.
DAYS AVAILABLE FOR TRADE 2010-2011
Note: A maximum of THREE days may be earned and traded over the course of the year. A maximum of TWO days may be earned for approved on-line training.
November 22, 2010*
District-wide training day for 199-day Instructional personnel. Working at school/site is not an option. Professional Development day for 235-day instructional personnel.
November 23, 2010
Holiday for 199-day instructional personnel. Professional development day for 218- and 235-day, instructional personnel.
April 25, 2011
Professional development day for 199-day Instructional personnel. Instructional personnel are on duty at their school/site or may use as one of three trade days using accrued time.
June 10, 2011
Site-based professional development day for 199-day instructional personnel and 235-day instructional personnel. Instructional personnel are on duty at their school/site or may use as one of three trade days using accrued time. High school only: Graduation responsibilities may prohibit use of trade on this day.

1. Training scheduled beyond contractual hours may qualify for trade credit.
2. Training used for the trade day incentive must:
*Support the District Strategic Plan.
*Align with the site School Improvement Plan (SIP).
*Be stated in the participant’s individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP)
*Occur between June 11, 2010 & May 20, 2011 per individual contractual workdays.
*Training hours beginning 6/11/10 (outside of contract for 199 Instructional), continuing and ending after 7/1/10 are eligible.
*Be conducted outside of the individual’s contractual day, on evenings or Saturdays.
*Be approved for trade by Professional Development prior to training being offered.
3. No stipends, contracted services, or TDEs can be used in conjunction with a trade day.
Trade cannot be interchanged with stipend after original issue.
4. All site-based training requires pre-approval by Content Supervisor/component author and is coordinated by the site ProEd Facilitator.
5. A personal day used for trade will not be reinstated.
6. Verification of training requires:
Confirmation of attendance with the participant’s signature on the sign-in sheet.
The completed Trade Day Training Assessment Survey.

BARGAINING SURVEY RESULTS
Since we extended the opportunity for participation in the bargaining survey through June 6th, the results of your input will be delayed. However, our first electronic Summer Action will contain the results of your feedback. The results will also be displayed on our website, www.pcta-pespa.org.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey! While the PCTA/PCS Agreement does not expire until the conclusion of the 2010-11 school year, your input is invaluable for our preparations for negotiating the successor Agreement which will begin during the 2011-12 school year.
