“Our first referendum campaign was born out of frustration at the Bush administration and the legislature for their unwillingness to fund public education. We haven’t turned that corner yet and we need to continue the additional support until Florida addresses its responsibility to fund high quality public schools.

“We are keenly aware of the public’s concerns over property tax rates but I believe that the legislature and Tax Commission will fix those issues before November of 2008. However, we can’t wait until the last minute to tell the public what we have done with their money.

“We ask that every teacher to do their ‘fair share’ to fund this campaign to renew this enhancement to our public schools.”
