Great News!!
The Learning Co-Op has been approved as a Supplemental Education Services provider for the fourth consecutive school year. As a non-profit organization, the Learning Cooperative has been providing after school tutoring to children in grades K – 5 throughout Pinellas County. The mission of the Learning Cooperative tutoring program is to partner with parents, students, teachers, and school staff to provide the highest quality no-cost tutoring in reading and math to eligible students. Certified teachers work with groups of 1 to 4 students on an individual basis, following research-based teaching strategies to help the students to improve their academic skills and reach their potential. Tutors are certified teachers who are members of PCTA or PEER and have a first-hand understanding of how best to work with students utilizing techniques that get results. All the tools needed to be a successful tutor are provided, including training, educational materials, lesson plans, manipulative, parent outreach materials, and the support of an expert staff. In addition to being a fun, challenging, and rewarding experience, tutoring is also an excellent way to earn supplemental income. Also, since tutoring takes place at school immediately following the end of the regular day, it is convenient for tutors and parents.
