Marilyn's December 2007 Message

The PEER Holiday Social is right around the corner, and you don’t want to miss it!! Ada Raynal will be our hostess for this wonderful luncheon.  Our potluck luncheon will be held on Monday, December 17, at 10:00.  Ada will prepare a meat dish and will provide beverages, plates, and utensils.  The rest is up to us! Plan on bringing your favorite dish to the luncheon!! You will find that our PEER cooks are terrific; the food is always delicious and the company is even better.

At this social, we share the holiday spirit as we provide items for two local organizations.  Pilgrims’ Haven House is an adult group home.  Ideas for them are coloring books, videos, sugar free candy, simple books, puzzles and batteries.  Ronald McDonald House will appreciate paper products, canned foods, soap and items for the Toy Closet.

PEER will be joining FEA-R in a project being sponsored by AFT.  The restructured school district in New Orleans is in need of books for Grades K-12.  We will be collecting books in December and January when they will be sent to the schools.  Please bring your donations of books, new and gently used, or a monetary donation to be used to purchase books to Marilyn Warner.

Ada’s address and phone number are listed in the PEER directory.  Parking is limited at her home and you may have to walk a little. It is a good idea to carpool if possible.
