EMPLOYEE EDUCATION AND TRAINING COMMITTEE MEETING
February 11, 2009 Minutes
1. Differentiate Accountability Discussion was facilitated by Ms. Marlyn Dennison.
Handouts (Crosswalk of Differentiated Categories, Interventions Matrix) were distributed regarding Differentiated Accountability, Key Principles, the categories of schools in the Differentiated Accountability Model, the Nine Levels of Support (for interventions) and Restructuring Plans.
New handouts will be available in March 2009.
Note: Florida is trying to align Differentiated Accountability with other models.
2. Decentralized Decision-Making presentation was facilitated by Dr. Julie Janssen.
School Teams: The school teams will include school leaders, teachers, parents, support services employees, etc.
Target date: Implementation is scheduled for Fall 2010. The plan includes state and federal guidelines, bargaining compliance, curriculum, pedagogy
Funding: Schools will be funded based on school populations. The price tag on students will be like FTE dollars ($). Equity, not equal funding is the goal.
Implementation:
Knowledge_ Three hours training for principals and bookkeepers will be provided.
Currently, there are 20 principals involved in the training. The Level II 2008-2009 class of Assistant Principals are currently being trained. A process is being developed to provide training for school based and other personnel
Accountability: The role of regional supervisors is to support and coach.
Role of the E.E. &T committee: The EE&T committee will provide the information in the manner that it is being presented and get feedback as the plan is ‘rolled out’. The structure includes conceptualization, guidelines, frameworks, brainstorming…
