The National Education Association (NEA) is the nation's largest professional employee organization and is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA's 2.7 million members work at every level of education, from pre-school to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state, as well as in more than 14,000 local communities across the United States.
The Florida Education Association (FEA) is the largest employee association in the state. Our membership of 122,000 includes public school teachers, education staff professionals, higher education faculty, students who plan to become teachers, retired school employees, and more.
The American Federation of Teachers (AFT) was founded in 1916 to represent the economic, social and professional interests of classroom teachers. It is an affiliated international union of the AFL-CIO. The AFT has more than 3,000 local affiliates nationwide, 43 state affiliates, and more than 1.3 million members.
